Cork flooring is extremely dense, yet resilient and is warm and comfortable underfoot. Clean ups are simple and maintenance is the same as traditional hardwood flooring. Cork has inherent thermal and acoustical insulation properties that help keep noise down and reduce power consumption. Cork is also a natural fire inhibitor and does not spread flame. Cork can be harvested many times over the life of the tree and regenerates itself in a very short period of time making it a very “green” choice for flooring. Specifically, cork trees can be harvested every 9 to 11 years and it is not unusual for 200 year old trees to be producing cork bark. There are many options for cork flooring in stock at Act 1 Flooring. Ask one of our flooring experts if you have more questions about cork floors.
